I am finally downloading a bunch of pictures I have taken from my phone over the past three months. I love these because they are candid and really show what the Cluff family has been up to... especially Chloe.
I am going to run a half marathon in 10 weeks!!! What?! It is going to kick my butt but I am excited. I have always wanted to achieve this goal so it might be a one time thing but at least I will accomplish it. I really feel motivated too. I am sick of feeling like a blob. The race is May 4th and my first day of training was Monday (Feb 25). I ran about 3 miles and stopped a few times to walk. I timed it and it took around half an hour. Not bad for my first day. It is February so of course I was freezing and running on top of snow and ice but I was pumped to be running again. Next time I need to wear gloves because my fingers were ice by the time I finished. It needs to get warm soon so running outside won't be such a burden. I'll be posting random days of my success/failures in the training process and of course the big race day. Here we go!!
Tanner's busiest day of the week is Thursday which Valentines day fell on this year. We both decided to pretend that Thursday was an ordinary day and that we were going to celebrate it Friday. Valentines day is seriously my favorite holiday. We did exchange one gift to each other on Thursday night... Tanner gave me See's (YUM!) and I gave him a pre-planned date for every month of the year. My love language is quality time so I am excited to spend time together on these unique dates... I'm anxious for him to open them all...
Friday morning, Tanner came home from work and surprised me with einsteins!
Instead of going out to a restaurant this year, I decided to make a fancy dinner at home.... aka stress galore. I attempted to take on a salmon recipe my sister gave me and it turned out perfect. I was so pleased with myself and Tanner was pretty impressed. Mission accomplished. He surprised me with a dozen red roses (from an actual florist and not Walmart!!) and chocolate covered strawberries were for dessert.
After the movie, Tanner did the dishes and I put Chloe to bed. My sister offered to listen for Chloe (it's so nice having her live upstairs!) and we went to the movie, "Safe Haven". The movie was surprisingly better than I expected and there were parts where I was at the edge of my seat... not to mention crying. Tanner also surprised me with a heart necklace with sapphires and diamonds... sorry I didn't take a picture. I got him a year subscription to ESPN magazine. Once again, I love Valentines day and Tanner knows that so we really try to make it special. It is crazy to think that we have spent 5 Valentines together and I can honestly say that each year it gets better.
Chloe was spoiled this year and had two birthday parties. You only have your first birthday once and you kinda have to go all out... even if they won't remember a thing. Luckily, Shanna wanted to combine Emma and Chloe's party so it took away alot of stress and expense! I love how close their birthdays are (Chloe-Dec 26; Emma-Dec 29). We had most of the Cluff family and Shanna's family over so it turned out to be a really fun party! Thanks Nana and Papa Cluff for letting us use your house!

We found these polka dot purses at hobby lobby and were instantly sold. The cousins loved their party favors too!
Nana and papa gave both the girls pink polka dot dresses that are so cute. They would have worked perfectly for our party too!
They both were unsure about their cakes at first but I think Chloe started to like it once daddy shoved some in her mouth...

Loves to blow kisses to anyone and everyone. Sometimes she'll give you multiple kisses in a row. If you are really lucky she will give you an open kiss on the lips!(but those are rare... even for mommy and daddy).
Started officially walking about a week before her first birthday. She sticks her head out to balance and looks like a turtle (according to Uncle Chad). She is getting better at walking every day and pretty soon I'll have a toddler running around.
She will sit on the floor and happily thumb through her books and look at the pictures. She also loves to be read to and will tap the page to let you know it is time to turn the page.
Her favorite thing is to climb stairs, couches, and beds. Unfortunately those activities require constant supervision.
Sleeps through the night. Sleeps on her tummy with her two bears.
Started to drink cow's milk and loves it.
Will point at pictures around the house and say, "da da."
Loves anything soft and cuddly to bury her face into.
Will eat almost anything... has trouble with fruit.
Claps to pat-a-cake and laughs at mommy when she is silly. Loves to be silly back.
Waits anxiously for her bath but wants to get out once the water hits her head.
Randomly comes up to people and smiles with her big "four teeth" grin.
Twirls her arms around her body and shakes her bum to music.
Christmas spent in Arizona in a nutshell:
Waking up at 5:30AM to fly to Arizona, Chloe pooping two times from the time I woke her up to the time we landed, juggling a diaper bag-checked bag-car seat-stroller-oh and don't forget Chloe (Thanks Mom for helping me!), Chloe and I took afternoon naps, Christmas Eve Ham dinner, opening up pajamas (the twins faces of their cheetah footsie's were priceless), visiting the temple lights, Christmas morning spent with Chuck and Kristine's kids and sharing in their excitement, opening gifts and getting overly excited about the Anne of green gables series I received, neighborhood pancake breakfast, Kathy's sausage rings, visiting with extended family, winning gloriously at diminishing bridge, loosing horribly at diminishing bridge, watching Chloe dance to the singing Santa, Chloe blowing kisses and improving in walking, Turkey pit, Les Miserables movie, El Charro, planning Chloe and Emma's party with Shanna in less than 24 hours, pulling off an amazing pretty in pink/polka dot first birthday for the girls, cranky (but cute non the less) birthday girls at their party, Bahama bucks, Sibling birthday dinner at Lucille's BBQ (so good btw!), bowling with the Thompson's, cuddling by the fire, visiting, and swinging on the swings. Definitely a Christmas to remember! :)
