Cowboy Campout First Birthday
7:51 PM
To celebrate William turning one, my family went camping. We headed up Hobble Creek Canyon and stayed at the Balsam campground. We had all the cousins wear their cowboy hats and bring their horses. It was an old western themed party. Grandma ordered the cutest cake from Parson's bakery that had horses and cowboys and Indians on it. William looked so cute in his cowboy get up. Uncle Paul cooked brats over the campfire and we had baked beans, watermelon, and veggies. When it came time for William to blow out his candle, Bradley got so excited he blew it out! It was really funny. It is so much fun when all the grandchildren are getting older and getting more excited about birthdays. William loved eating his birthday cake. He was a mess afterwards and we couldn't exactly give him a bath so we wiped him down as best we could. After presents we all visited around the campfire and it was a pretty good party if I say so myself. Now he can say that he got to go camping for his first birthday. Tanner and William actually went home that night and came back in the morning while Chloe and I slept over in the tent. We figured it would be too cold and too hard with William sleeping in a tent so we opted for the easier route. It was fun camping with my family. I think we will be making this a tradition. It will be easier when all the kids are older too.
