I lucked out. My visiting teacher is a natural photographer. She offered to take pictures of Chloe for me and so of course I accepted! It turned out to be a mother/daughter shoot but I LOVE how they turned out! Her name is Terie Young... so if anyone wants her number... ;) This happened about a month ago and it is crazy how fast Chloe has already grown since then from just from looking at these.
Chloe.....
weighs 25.4 lbs and wears 18-24 month clothing.
waves bye bye.
picks up all sorts of food, peas, beans, avocados, bananas, chicken, wheat bread with hummus, pasta. She loves to feed herself and if I try to feed her, she'll take it out of my hand and put it in her mouth. She sometimes will hide her food in the cracks of her high chair when she thinks I'm not looking.
learned the sign for "all done" and will wave her arms in the air to let us know she is finished eating.
loves musical toys and will dance dance dance. She also loves to sing... especially to Josh Groban.
hates getting dressed and hates it when I wipe her nose(when it's runny).
is strong, smart, funny, and has the cutest smile in the world.
plays pat-a-cake and loves to clap her hands. She also will play peek-a-boo with the shower curtain. She'll take it and poke her head out, cover her face, then poke it out again smiling all along. She loves it when I chase her and tickle her.
adores Tara, my family dog and giggles when Tara licks her (I try to prevent licking on the face).
loves reading books especially touch feel books. Even if it is not a touch feel book she will scratch at it expecting it to be a different texture.
says mama to me and dada to Tanner.
sleeps 11-12 hours straight sometimes but still gets up once... just depending on the night.
has stood all on her own! She now cruises and pulls herself up in the middle of the floor to stand. She gets so excited when she stands.
has screaming attacks with Bradley (who can scream the loudest). They both get so excited to see each other.
is our cuddle bug when she's tired and moves her lips up and down in a sucking position (this means it's time for night night).
Chloe, we love you so. Happy ten months.

boooo the stomach flu! I would so much rather have a head cold than the stomach flu. Chloe, my mom, me, Mike, and hopefully no one else has caught the bug. It is awful! Now are the times when you really appreciate your mom. I think about all the times when my mom was sick and had to still "work" and watch kids... let alone 5 kids. Thank you Mom and to all the moms out there. Only if you are lucky will you get a few hours off when your husband takes over. I am one of those lucky women... Tanner is the best there is. Last night is when the bug hit me and I was up in the night throwing up and other things which should not be written if you know what I mean. I was so grateful when Tanner came home from work and took over and let me go back to bed in the morning. My poor Chloe girl is so sick and it breaks my heart... especially when she still smiles through it all. I wish I was as tough as her. The stomach flu is awful and I pray no one catches it. Today I am truly grateful for those days when I am healthy... definitely something to be grateful for.
p.s. Today was this years first snow fall... can't wait for Christmas! :)

My dad's financial advisor invited him and his family on a little perk to go hiking in moab. The hotel room, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and the hike guide were included. My dad, Michelle, Mike, Andrew, and I were the only ones who could make it (my mom babysat). We drove down Monday night and woke up early Tuesday morning for the hike. It was about 6 miles round trip and it was gorgeous. I loved climbing the red rock and looking at the arches. I got tons of sand in my sneakers by the end. We raced home so I could catch a Parachute/All American Rejects/Boys like girls concert. Lets just say that by the end of this day... I was exhausted. Thankfully Chloe slept for ll hours straight! :)
Tanner and I splurged for our birthdays last year and spent the weekend in St. George to go see Tuachan's production of Little Mermaid. We loved it so much, we suggested it to my dad for a family trip for next year. We ended up going and this year's production was Aladdin. It was very entertaining with fireworks, 3D cave scene, and a flying magic carpet ride. I can't wait til I can take Chloe to these shows someday because I think she would absolutely love it. The theater is an outdoor amphitheatre in the middle of red rock and it is so gorgeous. One reason why I love it so much is because of the surroundings. Next year they are showing Marry Poppins so we'll see if we make it down again.
On the way down I was a little nervous for the 3 1/2 hour drive with babies but both Bradley and Chloe did pretty good (we carpooled with Michelle and Mike). The cutest thing was that Bradley loved reaching for Chloe's hand and holding it. :)
Friday night was the show and then Saturday was an open day for people do whatever... Tanner wanted to watch the BYU game... of course. Earlier on we went and hiked around the red rock and enjoyed the warm weather. Some of us went swimming and others took naps. My mom was a saint and watched babies.. A LOT. I feel so grateful that she is willing to watch Chloe whenever... she loves her grandbabies. Later, my family went and saw "Argo" and I really enjoyed it. I really love real life stories and get so fascinated that these events really happened in real life. It is rated R for swearing and maybe a few disturbing images but if you can kind of ignore that...I would recommend it. The plan was to go to dinner afterwards to Outback but Chloe was already so tired so Tanner, my mom, and I were all fighting over who should stay at the hotel with her... Tanner won. I did not want my mom to have to stay with her when she missed out on everything else. Outback was delicious and I brought Tanner back some food. We both hit the sack early since we both knew Chloe would be bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7am.
Sunday we lazily lounged around and ate breakfast and finally left for home around 11. The ride home seemed even better than on the way there. The babies slept for the first half of the trip so it was very nice. Thanks mom and dad for a very fun weekend!! Home sweet home for about 24 hours and then I'm off again to Moab.
Tonight was our ward's Halloween party so it was time to dress up Chloe in her first Halloween costume... a ballerina. She looked so dang cute! The tutu was a little bit big but atleast now she can grow with it and wear it again. Tanner and I did the lazy/easy thing and dressed up as cowgirl/cowboy. The party was really fun and all of my primary kids came up to me and showed off their costumes. I think that once Halloween rolls around, Tanner and I will will most likely be chillin in the basement watching a scary movie. This was our chance to show off our cute little girl and enjoy some of the Halloween spirit. Happy Halloween everyone!
Remember a while back when I said I started sewing? well here are a few of the things that I have been working on. Everything that is shown besides the purple/green throw pillows is fabric that I fished out of my mom's collection. I have a few things in the future that I am thinking about starting... a christmas table runner, diaper clutch, baby blankets etc. I feel just a little proud of my accomplishment! ;)
Ever since Tanner and I have met we have always gone up to Park City around the fall time (except last year)... so it has sort of been a tradition. This year was the first year that we did not have the luxury of staying at my parent's condo so we stayed the night at a best western which we used points for. We started out the evening by walking main street and window shopping. We ate dinner at the Eating Establishment (since it was the only place somewhat reasonably priced!). We also stopped by the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and loaded up on goodies. After checking into our hotel and getting settled for a bit, we decided to catch a late movie, "Taken 2." It was very much like the first Taken movie but was still very entertaining. Then we zonked out and slept the WHOLE night until ten in the morning... yes that's right.. it was glorious. In the morning we sort of raced out of bed so we could catch McDonald's breakfast... ha ha monopoly is going on right now and we go crazy for free stuff. We walked the outlets and both agreed to get something for ourselves and not Chloe (he he since that is usually what I spend money on). Well I bought something... but Tanner didn't :( He just couldn't find anything I guess. The leaves were beautiful and changing all sorts of colors, the air was brisk and fall-like, and the whole getaway was relaxing and needed. Thank you Tanner for taking me on this romantic getaway not too far from home. I love you. Happy 26th birthday! :)
Birthday week starts with my birthday and ends with Tanner because our birthdays are exactly a week a part.
Well my birthday was on a Monday this year so it was kinda hard to really celebrate but I would say that Tanner did a really good job (considering he works graveyards and goes to school full time). Monday morning, he was going to let me sleep in for an hour and watch Chloe but Chloe decided to wake up early so I was already up when he got home. He surprised me with breakfast from Einsteins though which was really sweet. He watched her while I took a shower (mothers out there know how hard it is to take showers sometimes). He went to bed and during the day I found a little surprise in Chloe's room. It was a card, and lindt chocolate, my fav! Michelle surprised me with a cute scarf ( which I believe I'm wearing in the pictures) and took me out to lunch. We walked the mall for a little bit and then both took naps with our babies. Tanner went to class and when he got home, he surprised me with a dozen yellow roses, a cupcake from cocoa bean, and sweat pants from Costco... (lol... why not give me something I wear 97% of the time right?). Michelle and Mike offered to listen for Chloe while Tanner and I went out to eat at PFChangs... YUM. We ended the night with dancing with the stars. It was a pretty good day in my book. Plus it's my golden birthday so it can't be anything less than perfect right?
Tuesday:
Now it marked the beginning of my birthday surprises for Tanner. Every day I gave him a little surprise with a picture of us and a little rhyme. As the days got closer to his actual birthday, the pictures progressed through our life together. Today I surprised him with Dr. Pepper and tootsie rolls. It was just what he needed to get him through class that day he claimed. Tanner always say how he doesn't like a big fuss on his birthday but I think he secretly likes it ;) plus it's fun for me.
Wednesday:
Today I surprised Tanner with hygiene products on the bathroom counter. Like I said.. these are all small and somewhat practical gifts. My sister, Jaclyn, flew in today from LA so my mom and her came down to take me out to lunch. Michelle and Andrew tagged along too so it was kinda a family event. We ate at Kneaders and enjoyed visiting since we all don't see each other THAT much.
Thursday:
Today I surprised Tanner with a foot massage... yeah aren't I the nicest? he loves em! So tonight... probably while we watch the premiere of Grey's anatomy I will massage his feet. I also got a hair makeover today. I was debating over so many different options and I finally decided to go for bangs!! I also got a few subtle highlights. So far I am loving the change... what do you think?
Friday:
Today I surprised Tanner with a different date night rather than the usual dinner and a movie. It was a full moon so Sundance Ski Resort held moonlit lift rides. We cozied up in our warm gear and brought a blanket and cuddled on the ski lift while we soared up into the mountains. It was probably the coolest thing ever and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good date (especially if you want to get to know your partner). We both had hot chocolate which just made everything that much better! Nothing beats getting outside in the fresh air on a romantic lift ride with the love of your life.
Saturday:
We were planning on getting away to Park City or something BUT I had a primary program practice this morning so that altered our plans. It's OK though because we are going next weekend. Saturday I went to my practice and helped my 5 year olds say their lines and afterwards raced up to Bountiful to catch my Grandma's 77th birthday party. It was fun seeing some of my extended family on my mom's side. Tanner was really into his ASU game while I ran errands and did misc stuff in the afternoon. That night we ordered pizza and watch law in order in bed. I planned on making a fort and watching a movie... but we both agreed that we were both too tired. wah wah
Sunday:
Tanner had to teach elders quorum and I had my primary program at church. My family came over to celebrate Tanner and mine's birthday. I made Roast and potatoes (Tanner's fave) and Tanner made some delicious peach ice cream. My mom helped a lot with cooking and cleaning so it wasn't like I was making my own birthday dinner. We opened presents, had cake, and visited. My sister, Jaclyn, spent her last night in Utah at Michelle's house, so the three of us stayed up way too late talking about everything and anything. That is probably one of my favorite things... sister talk. :) I even made Jaclyn sleep with me since I hate sleeping alone and Tanner was at work.
Monday:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANNER! The big 26! Tanner usually wakes me up when he gets home from work but today he didn't... :(. I was planning on making him a big breakfast but he had already gone to bed in his dungeon. When he woke up for class at 3 I surprised him with a cupcake, card, and shirts. I kept telling Chloe all day that it was daddy's birthday and that she should give him lots of kisses. When she first saw Tanner she gave him lots of kisses... it was so cute! She totally understands. We ate out at Texas Road house that night and it was yummy in our tummies! :)
Birthday week has come to a close... well kinda. We are still going up to Park City with the free points Tanner earned. We are going to go the outlets and maybe go shopping... and just have a fun weekend getaway which we both desperately need. My mom offered to babysit so just the fact that we'll both get a full nights sleep is something to look forward to.
Here are the silly poems that I wrote for Tanner each day in case anyone wants to copy ;)
T- Lots of loves are coming your way
Its birthday week, hip hip hooray!!
Dr. Pepper and tootsie rolls
will surely wipe away your woes
You are almost twenty six
Enjoy this little birthday fix!
W- Men are hard to buy for
Let alone to surprise
so I'm sorry if I'm giving you
something worse than ties
I figure personal hygiene
is something we all strive for
so here you go and enjoy
your favorites and more!
TH- You may have homework or school
which I know can be really cruel
but tonight it is my treat
to rub and massage your feet!
F-Our first time in Park City
We gazed for shooting stars
Let's gaze a little higher
with the night completely ours
S- We may have a little girl
who makes us feel less than groovy
but we can still build a fort,
cuddle and watch a movie.
S- A Sunday dinner repeat
is what you truly love
Roast, potatoes, and gravy
I hope I rise above.
M- Balloons, presents, and cake
I know you don't like a huge fuss
but man up and deal with it
because in my book it's a must!
